Recruitment of SAP FI expert for global corporation

About the company

Our client, an international corporation operating in the manufacturing sector, employing over 15,000 people worldwide, faced the challenge of expanding its Tax team.

The company, headquartered in London with offices in 12 countries, planned to increase the number of specialists in its tax department from 10 to 20 people to meet growing regulatory requirements and optimize financial processes.

Our approach

We have designed a two-stage recruitment process to select candidates who meet the client's high expectations:

  • Stage I: Competency analysis and pre-selection

We conducted a detailed market analysis, focusing on specialists with experience in SAP FI and work in large enterprises. We used our database, network of contacts and activities related to active candidate search. As a result, we selected 15 potential candidates.

  • Stage II: Interviews and Recommendation

We organized screening interviews with five best-matched candidates, during which we specified their experience in SAP FI, knowledge of JPK and interpersonal skills. We paid special attention to practical examples of implementation and optimization of tax processes. On this basis, we prepared recommendations in the form of profiles of two experts who best met the client's requirements.

Solution

The selected candidate, Michał Kowalski (fictitious name), had over 8 years of experience working with the SAP FI system, including 5 years in international companies from the FMCG and manufacturing sectors. He specialized in configuring financial modules, adapting JPK reports to local requirements and training teams in tax compliance. His additional assets include SAP certification and fluent English, confirmed by work in international projects.

Result

The candidate joined the team within a month of completing the recruitment process, and the client emphasized that his contribution was noticeable already in the first weeks of work - especially in streamlining processes related to JPK and data integration in SAP.

Conclusions

The success of this recruitment project resulted from a precise understanding of the client’s needs, effective matching of candidate competencies and efficient process management.
