Should you be afraid of AI?
Over the last few years, artificial intelligence has revolutionized virtually the entire world. In addition to the multitude of possibilities it introduces to everyday life, both personal and professional, there are also many rumors circulating around it.
Will humans become replaceable and AI will eliminate them from the job market?
In our opinion – no 🙂 The human factor will not be replaced due to the individuality of each of us and creative, unique ways of thinking. However, AI will appear in many professions and to stay up to date – it will be necessary to learn a completely different approach to work. In order not to be left behind, it is worth finding out how much tasks are changing thanks to the introduction of artificial intelligence.
However, it is worth supporting your actions with the possibilities offered by AI to maximize the effects of your work while reducing the effort.
In point 9, we write exactly why it is worth using artificial intelligence tools.
How to prepare for looking for a job in IT?
There are many ways and techniques to prepare well for looking for a job. Below we present a list of 10 tips that can help you with this 🙂
1. Prepare your CV and practice so that you can tell about yourself in 5 minutes.
Although it may seem trivial, it doesn’t have to be. It is worth looking deep inside yourself and considering your strengths and weaknesses, so that you can then talk about yourself in 5 minutes during a recruitment interview.
In the eyes of the recruiter you can look confident then, which has a positive impact on our image.
2. Update your LinkedIn profile.
LinkedIn, as a platform where specialists and experts from every possible industry meet, can also be an opportunity to establish promising contacts and get on the list of candidates that recruiters are currently looking for.
Make sure that your profile has up-to-date contact details and completed professional experience. You can also set your profile to indicate that you are currently looking for a job, which can further attract the attention of recruiters.
Don’t be afraid to publish either – letting your contacts know that you’re currently looking for a job can result in recommendations from various recruiters, agencies or job offers.
3. Check job portals.
It is worth checking various job portals on an ongoing basis, because new job offers for positions that interest us may appear every day.
Here are some examples of portals with job offers: pl.jooble.org, Pracuj.pl, bulldogjob.pl, justjoin.it, theprotocol.it.
The full list of IT job boards can be found here: Top 9 IT Job Boards in Poland.
You can also check our job offers tab, which is also constantly updated 🙂
4. Write to your friends.
Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best – ask your friends and family if they have seen any interesting job offers. You might just find something perfect for you!
There are referral systems that encourage people to inform us that someone they know is looking for a job (in this case, if the recommended candidate is hired, the person who recommended often gets some money for it).
5. Send your CV to recruitment agency databases.
By sending your CV to recruitment agency databases you increase your chances of finding the job you are interested in. If your CV meets the requirements that the client is looking for, the recruiter may contact you with a promising offer.
You can also send your CV to us – we will try to find the best offer for you 🙂
6. Create an Excel sheet with the most important information.
It’s worth keeping up to date with everything that’s going on – both with the offers we’ve saved that interest us and information on how many conversations we’ve already had. In such a file you can keep all the necessary information, such as notes about the companies that invited you to interviews.
You can also make a cheat sheet of what exactly you want to say during the recruitment interview, so that you definitely don’t forget to mention your strengths and successes 😉
7. Looking for a job is also work…
…so invest in your rest. Remember to take regular breaks so that you can reset yourself and, with positive energy, continue your search.
Rest and a good attitude are conducive to success.
8. Get advice from others about your CV.
If your applications have been repeatedly rejected, despite having valuable experience and skills, it is worth asking someone to review your CV.
It may turn out that our CV is written in a way that is illegible to the recruiter, contains errors or simply does not contain the most important information that the recruiter is interested in.
Your CV can be checked for you by your loved ones or family, but it is best to have it checked by someone experienced in writing CVs.
9. Collaborate with AI.
AI supports your efforts! If you are having difficulty searching or have run out of ideas for job offer sources, then contact AI search engines such as Chat GPT.
It can also help you prepare for a recruitment interview; just ask it for a prompt that will allow you to practice questions that may arise during the recruitment process.
10. Check market reports.
The IT job market is constantly changing, so it’s worth keeping your finger on the pulse and checking current data on salaries, benefits and preferred work models.
If you want to stay up to date with such information, we encourage you to check our reports on the IT job market, where you will find the above data from 2021, 2022 and 2023.
We will publish a report with data for 2024 in early 2025, so we encourage you to sign up for our newsletter to be informed about the premiere!
